Thinking about joining the Hononegah Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) Board?
That's fantastic! As a volunteer organization, we cannot function without people just like you who are willing to volunteer some of their time to help make this association the best it can be for our players and families.
Why should I volunteer to be on the board?
1. HYSA would not be possible without volunteers like you. Our club has filled a unique niche in local soccer for over 35 years. Your participation supports that legacy.
2. As parents, we all have opinions about what we want our kids’ experiences with different activities to be like; the HYSA Board represents an opportunity to have some input into your child’s experience with soccer.
3. Being a Board member satisfies all of your volunteer requirements and provides financial benefits as well.
4. It’s fun! While the Board takes its responsibilities seriously, the Board is collegial, fun and connects you with your friends, neighbors and community.
What is the time commitment?
The Board meetings are held on the third Tuesday evening of each month. Board members are also asked to oversee opening or closing the soccer fields twice each season. Additional responsibilities will be tailored to each person’s area of interest or expertise. Many hands make light work!
OK, I’m in. Now what?
Send us an email using the links below and tell us a little about yourself. Someone from the HYSA Board will be in touch with more information. If you’d like test drive a board meeting, we’d be glad to have you join us!
The Bruce Samlan Soccer League (BSSL) relies on the assistance of volunteers to help run the league and provide a fun and safe environment for youth soccer. There are many opportunities to volunteer such as: Coaching, Assistant Coaching, Field Set Up, Field Tear Down, Concessions, Picture Day, Registration, Spiritwear, and field striping on Wednesday (Thursday rain date) evenings.
Families donate two credits (60-90 minutes depending on volunteer selection) of their time for each registered child to help keep the league running smoothly. There is a $30 buyout fee for parents that are unable to commit the time to volunteer and while this fee helps offset some of the costs of the league, it doesn't replace the people power needed to effectively accomplish all of the weekly (and seasonal) tasks in running the league. We really need your time and appreciate all of our volunteer efforts.
Volunteer sign up is requested at the parent meeting and before the first game/picture day so that volunteer shift schedules can be posted. The sign-ups are done online via Dibs.
To volunteer, please select the Dibs tab on our website.
Thank You Volunteers! Without you, BSSL in its current form could not exist!
